In less than one week, 23 new teachers will experience their first day of school in Huntington Beach Union High School District (HBUHSD).

On Friday morning, the new hires were welcomed by the Board of Trustees, Superintendent Clint Harwick, members of Cabinet, and principals during the annual new teacher orientation.

“We pick the crème de la crème and we are very happy to have you,” Board President Bonnie Castrey told the teachers.

The half-day orientation covered topics such as policies, best practices, expectations, and other various tools to be successful in the District.

The first day of school for HBUHSD is Aug. 29.
