The search for retroactive diploma candidates is underway

Following a revision to Board Policy (BP) 6146.1 (attached right), the district may retroactivity grant a high school diploma to a former Huntington Beach Union High School District (HBUHSD) student who is: A) an honorably discharged veteran of World War II, the Korean War, or the Vietnam War who was enrolled in our school district immediately preceding his/her military service and he/she did not receive a diploma because his/her education was interrupted due to this service,           -or- B) any veteran who entered the military service of the United States (following the Vietnam War) while he/she...

SAC Football Day at Edison High

On Thursday, June 30, the Edison High School (EHS) football program held SAC Football Day — a longstanding and much anticipated yearly tradition at the school.  Dave White, Edison’s head football coach, started this tradition some-20 years ago. One day each summer, Edison’s football program hosts the school’s Special Abilities Cluster (SAC) program for a morning dedicated to fun field activities such as frisbee golf, corn hole, and of course, tossing around a football. Summer break = time for facility improvements

After much anticipation, construction crews have broken ground at three of four HBUHSD school sites that will receive new artificial turf fields this summer.  Fountain Valley High School (FVHS), Marina High School (MHS), and Ocean View High School (OVHS) are currently under construction.  Construction at Edison High School (EHS) is set for begin sometime at the beginning of July.  With this addition, all six HBUHSD comprehensive high schools will have their own artificial...
