On Friday, March 24, Edison High School (EHS) hosted the 10th annual Huntington Beach Union High School District (HBUHSD) HBReads Assembly featuring New York Times bestselling author, Jamie Ford. HBReads, short for Huntington Beach Reads One Book, is a nonprofit organization with one mission: bring the students and families of Huntington Beach together to read one book in order to achieve a community-wide experience. Westminster High School claims Division 2 state championship at California Academic Decathlon

Following a long weekend of fierce competition, Westminster High School (WHS) earned first place (Division 2) at the California Academic Decathlon competition in Sacramento, CA! In addition to being crowned Division 2 state champions, the Lions received 14 individual medals including six gold, four silver, and four bronze in the categories of art, economics, essay, literature, mathematics, music, social science, and overall.  The team has also earned an overall state ranking of 14th. Westminster High School receives national recognition for successful AVID strategies

Westminster High School (WHS) has been selected as a National Demonstration School by AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination), a nonprofit organization dedicated to closing the achievement gap by preparing all students for college and other postsecondary options. With this new recognition, Westminster High School joins approximately 150 other AVID National Demonstration Schools and was selected through an application process, screening, and review, which included a site visit.
