Congratulations to Marina High School (MHS) student, Austin Hwang, for being selected as one of just five Disneyland Resort Dreamers & Doers “Luminaries.”
On Saturday, February 25, Austin and 32 other Orange County high school students were recognized during a luncheon at the Disneyland Hotel. This is the second year for the Disneyland Resort Dreamers & Doers program, which deems a select number of students as “Shining Stars” for their extra efforts in improving their communities.
This special recognition comes as a result of Austin’s hard work in founding “Marina WAVE,” a school environmental club that focuses on water conservation, education and more.
Austin will receive a $3,000 grant to award an Orange County nonprofit of his choice, along with a weekend prize package that includes a stay at the Disneyland Resort with his family.
