On Wednesday, Oct. 28, students at Marina High School were recognized by the school for their outstanding leadership talents. The students in the large group were all nominated by their teachers to attend the Hugh O’Brian Youth (HOBY) Leadership Seminar.
This seminar is designed to help high school sophomores recognize their leadership talents and apply them to become effective, ethical leaders in their home, school, workplace and community.

Out of the group, three sophomores were selected to attend the three-day HOBY Leadership Seminar at Chapman University in Orange, CA, next June. The three students selected were, (seen below, left-right) Abigail Blain, Daphne Pham and Kelly Ma. The Marina Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) will sponsor these students to attend this educational seminar.

Founded in 1958, the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership’s (HOBY) mission is to inspire and develop the global community of youth and volunteers to a life dedicated to leadership, service and innovation.
