On December 1, Board of Trustees member, Susan Henry, was sworn in as the California School Board Association’s (CSBA) new President.  Trustee Henry is the first Board member in the district’s history to hold this position.  This ceremony took place at CSBA’s Annual Education Conference in San Francisco.

Since 2000, Henry has diligently served on the Huntington Beach Union High School District (HBUHSD) Board of Trustees, with four of those years as president – most recently in 2015.  She has been an active member of the California School Boards Association since 2006 and in 2012, was elected as the Director of Region 15 for Orange County. As a part of the CSBA, she was also appointed a member of the associations Linked Learning Task Force (2011-2013) and the Golden Bell Review Committee (2014). Currently, Henry also participates as a member of the CSBA Bylaws Committee.

CSBA is a non-profit education association representing the elected officials who govern school districts and county offices of education.  In total, the association represents over 5,000 school board members and six million students throughout the state.
