On December 8, the Huntington Beach Union High School District (HBUHSD) office held their annual holiday luncheon to celebrate employees and the year coming to a close. As a part of this celebration, Dr. Carolee Ogata, Deputy Superintendent of Human Resources, presented a $750 donation for students in need. This donation was raised by district office employees.
Elena Inurreta (pictured below), a community liaison for the district, accepted the donation in the form of Target and gas gift cards. Elena takes special care to identify HBUHSD students and families most in need in order to provide them with a little extra something for the holiday season. Each year, these donations are raised as a result of the district’s annual White Elephant Sale.
In addition, district office employees also enjoyed a special performance by the Fountain Valley High School (FVHS) Troubadours. Under the leadership of Kevin Tison, the FVHS Director of Vocal Music, the Troubadours performed an array of holiday songs.
Would you like to see the Troubadours for yourself? Join them and the entire FVHS Vocal Music Program on December 9 for their Deck the Halls with a Little Jazz show. The program will be accompanied by professional big band musicians. The show will start at 6:45 p.m. at the Calvary Church of Santa Ana (1010 N Tustin Ave, Santa Ana, CA 92705).
