Westminster High School’s (WHS) Academic Decathlon team has done it again!
After months of preparation and two separate weekends of fierce competition, the school earned third place overall and second place in SuperQuiz (Division 1) at the Orange County Academic Decathlon (OCAD). As a result of their hard work, the Lions will advance to the California Academic Decathlon Competition for the 11th consecutive year in a row. The students also earned an impressive 45 individual medals.
Since June 2016, the team has been studying the subjects of art, economics, essay writing, interview, language and literature, mathematics, music, science, social science, and speech pertaining to this year’s competition theme, World War II.
In March, the team will travel to Sacramento for the State Championship competition where, in 2016, they earned first place (Division 3). Great job, Lions!
